Plannosaurus Pteranodon

The Pteranodon was a pterosaur of the Cretaceous with a wingspan of up to 7 metres, its long crest sweeping back from the head being its most distinctive feature. Strictly speaking it was not a dinosaur, but a flying reptile of the same period.

Plannosaurus (プラノサウルス) is BANDAI's dinosaur model kit series, supervised by the Gunma Museum of Natural History. Its defining feature is that you build the skeleton first, then wrap it in the skin: once assembled, the outer skin can be opened up so you can look back at the bone structure inside at any time — playful and educational at the same time.

• No glue and no painting required; parts come pre-coloured
